Surroundings
We have our own slip way to launch your boat and should you not bring your own boat, we have 8 rowing boats available to take out on the lakes should you care to go fishing. But it is also possible to fish on the grass polder behind the hotel if you do not care to go out on the lakes. Although the polder is not exactly bit, it is still big enough to enjoy a few days fishing and there is plenty of opportunity to catch a few small pikes per day. (with exception of the odd big one!) The polder consists of a broad ring canal with a number of smaller and larger side streams that connect the small lake behind the hotel with the lakes that the village is known for. The average depth in the broader streams and the canal is approximately 1,5 to 2 metres. The water is also fairly clear and the vegetation consists of ‘normal’ water plants with the occasional beds of water-lilies here and there.
The fish stock
The fish stock consists of rudd, bream, tench, perch, pike and the occasional big carp. One of the nice things about the grass polder is that every angler, be it the pike angler, the fly angler or the regular angler will come into their own. The pike angler can enjoy him or herself with artificial bait and also the fly angler can spend a few nice days here. In the summer one can use dry fly or nymph to try and catch rudd and in wintertime one can use a streamer for perch and pike. But also the sports angler with a regular angle will be able to find a few good spots to catch some beautiful minnows and breams.
